Great Books for Students in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade

The 2x2 Reading List is a project of the Children's Round Table, a unit of the Texas Library Association. The 2x2 Committee develops an annual list of twenty recommended books for children ages two to grade two. 

Great Books for Students in 3rd through 5th grade

Every year a new list of twenty books, representing a variety of genres, are placed on the the Texas Bluebonnet list. Students who have read at least 5 books are eligible to to vote on their favorite book at the end of January. Votes are tallied from all of the eligible voters from schools all over Texas. The Bluebonnet Book with the most votes receives the Texas Bluebonnet Award.

                                  Book Fair

The library and PTA will host two Scholastic book fairs each year. Book fairs encourage literacy while raising funds for our school. Our first book fair will be open for shopping October 1st-7th, look for details soon!



 

 

Summer Reading

 

Summer Reading Programs are created to continue building your child's reading skills, create a fun time to share with your child, and foster the love of reading.

Young children who do not read yet get valuable reading skills from a parent who takes the time to read aloud to them. If you want to learn more about reading aloud to your child, go to: Reading Magic.
