Robertson Students are Thankful!

Gracias Thanks by Pat Mora

(Grades K-2) In this beautifully illustrated book, a young boy recounts the many things for which he is thankful. He is thankful for a story a friend shared with him, time at the beach, and not being stung by bees while playing outside. Written in both Spanish and English, Pat Mora helps readers remember the simple things in life that bring us joy. At the end of the book, Pat Mora includes a letter from her to the reader. In the letter, she challenges readers to list all of things for which they are thankful.  

After students in kindergarten through second grade heard Gracias Thanks read aloud, they wrote something they were thankful for on leaves and we posted them on a Thanksgiving Tree. What joy it is to listen to our Robertson students share how they are thankful.
