2X2 BOOKS

 This week students learned about the 2X2 Books, and I challenged every student in kindergarten through second grade to read all 20 books on the 2X2 list.

Each student received a 2X2 boot to keep track of the books they read. When they return their boot back to school, their picture will go on the Wall of Fame.

Then we read Chalk, one of my favorite 2X2 book. In this story, three friends find chalk in the playground. When they draw with the chalk on the sidewalk their drawings come to life. This is great until one of the friends draws a scary dinosaur. After reading the story, students created their own chalk drawings.
