The Texas Revolution

This week fourth grade students came into the library to explore the Texas Revolution. Students were divided into pairs and visited five stations.

Station 1: Students made a cascading flip book online assimilating facts learned in class.
Station 2: Students created a timeline by putting events in chronological order.
Station 3: Students used World Book Online to research a key figure from the Texas Revolution. Then they used the program Phoster on the iPad to present what they learned.
Station 4: Students assumed the role of Stephen F. Austin and wrote a speech outlining two things that upset the colonists and two demands they had. Then they used iPods to record themselves saying the speech.
Station 5: Students watched a snippet from a movie about the Battle of the Alamo. Then each group wrote a summary explaining what happened in the video.
